What is FLYBOX?

FLYBOX models 166,700 neurons and approximately 25.6 million synapses in an open-source fruit-fly sandbox. Food, light, obstacles, predators and other inputs affect behavior and neural activity in real time. Researchers can silence or stimulate neuron populations, lesion connections, compare brains and fork experiments while observing the fly.
